I was born and raised in Boonville, the youngest of three boys, to coal miner Ralph “Rabbit” and housewife Lavonia “Skeet” Downing. My wife of 39 years, Carmen (Winsett), and I chose to continue making the City of Boonville our home. Together we have raised three, wonderful daughters: Shelly Volz, Kelly Sampson, and Jeannie Downing. I have worked for Warrick County Government for 42 years and have been involved in the management of many large projects. I am not afraid of hard work and prefer to be hands on and will bring that same work ethic to the Mayor’s office. I am committed to working together with City staff and the residents of Boonville, most importantly, listening to their needs.
