My name is Debbie Stevens. I am a Christian and a conservative Republican who supports the sanctity of life, the Second Amendment, law enforcement, and term limits at all levels of government. I believe in smaller, more efficient government and lower taxes.
Warrick County has been my home for more than 50 years. My husband, Jed, and I raised and educated our children here. I work, worship, and remain deeply invested in this community. I am committed to leaving Warrick County better for future generations.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business and bring over 25 years of private-sector experience with Mead Johnson, along with 10 years in local government. I currently serve as a Human Resources Manager for a large nonprofit Christian organization.
I had the honor of serving as Warrick County Auditor from 2015 to 2022. As Auditor—the fiscal officer for county government—I upheld the highest standards of integrity, accountability, and ethical leadership. I will bring that same commitment to service as your County Commissioner.
During my tenure, my team and I improved efficiency by operating with fewer staff and a smaller budget than previous administrations. We strengthened financial oversight by implementing internal controls that resulted in $283,000 in documented loss prevention during my second term. We also replaced outdated tax, accounts payable, and payroll systems, leading to more accurate accounting and improved financial reporting.
As your next County Commissioner, I will prioritize eliminating wasteful spending and increasing transparency in how your tax dollars are managed. Warrick County deserves responsible leadership that reflects the values of its hardworking residents.
Our county has faced challenges, including costly lawsuits and negative publicity that do not represent who we are. I am ready to help move Warrick County forward with positive leadership—supporting economic development that retains local talent and attracts businesses aligned with our community’s diverse lifestyles and values.
