Steve Spinks

County Commissioner

District 3

I have lived in Warrick County for over 36 years. I have raised my family here. My 2 kids have chosen to stay and keep Warrick County as their home. I have been married for 32 years. I am prolife, Christian, and currently serve on the Tennyson Town Advisory Board.

I am a supporter of property rights. As a county we are governed by State and local codes, ordinances, policies, and regulations. These have been put in place to help keep order and quality of life to benefit most of the area population that live here. I will take serious consideration of all these that come before me. I want to have an open communication with the county residents and their concerns or issues and their hopes and dreams for this county. The decisions that we put in place today can affect tomorrow in a positive or negative way. I want it to be positive to preserve our rights.

I support our farmers and agricultural areas of the county. We need to preserve our farmland. It is vital to the area. I am against large scale solar farms, but I am for private homes and businesses to use solar if they choose.

I have in the past served as a reserve deputy for 4 years under the Warrick County Sheriffs Office. I strongly support all our first responders. They are a group of outstanding members of our community dedicating their careers to providing protection and a better quality of life for our communities.

We have a great school system here with hard-working staff that provide education and support for our youth. In recent years there has been an increase in mental health issues among our youth. We need more training and support within our schools to help combat these issues.

I support our local government employees. These individuals and the positions they fill are important to maintain and preserve records, documents and provide information and guidance to the public. We need to make sure that this work environment is safe and healthy so that they can fully perform their jobs.

We need to keep opportunities here in Warrick County as a good place to live and raise a family. We need to maintain a quality of life that makes us all good neighbors. As your commissioner my plan is to listen and take every concern seriously. We will work together to address, resolve, or find common ground.
